Doing a lot of internet surfing I wanted to see if I could bring up some of the guys of the 7th that served during the occupation of Japan (1946-1948).Sorry to find that no WWll troopers listed. Guess we're fading fast. One guy "Cottontop" Rhode 4th Cav. 1939-1941 was also looking wwith no luck.

I am Cavalry...1/4 Cav..I have a question, According to what I have read the 1/4 is still called the Quarter Horse.According to www.glodalsecurity.org/military/agency/army/1-4cav.htm we are called "Raiders",which is correct. We are having a reunion (1/4Cav.) in association with the 1st Inf. Div. in San Antonio in August and would like to put this to rest. thank you, Jeff Kramer "PREPARED AND LOYAL'

Well 2010 is here and it is Spring. I am headed back to 1st Cav Div again. I am glad to see that the history is kept and shows what my brothers and sisters did before me, with me, and soon ... after me. This is very nice to see. Keep up all the hard work. I appreciate it and sure many others do too.

On March 29, 1939 at age 15, I was honored by being accepted into the ranks of the 4th Cavalry. I was assigned to E Troop. Col. Robert C. Rogers was regimental commander. Capt. Lewis Rapp was E Troop commander and Bill Williams was 1st Sgt. I have some very fond memories of my service in the 4th Cav. Learned a lot and became a man during that period. Would love to hear from any of the Ft. Meade troopers, especially those of Troop E from March 1939 to June 1941.
