01 October 1981; 312th Army Security Agency redesignated as the 312th Military Intelligence Battalion, assigned to the 1st Cavalry Division, and activated at Fort Hood, Texas. ("A" and "B" Companies concurrently consolidated with the 371st Army Security Agency [See ANNEX 1] and the 191st Military Intelligence Company [See ANNEX 2] and consolidated units designated as "A" and "B" Companies, 312th Military Intelligence Battalion.)
