14 July 1917; Organized at Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, as the 7th Field Battalion, Signal Corps.

03 August 1917; Reorganized and redesignated as the 7th Field Battalion.

December 1917; Assigned to the 15th Cavalry Division.

12 May 1918; Relieved from assignment to the 15th Cavalry Division.

16 September 1921; Disbanded at Fort Bliss, Texas.

19 September 1932; Reconstituted in the Regular Army and consolidated with the 1st Signal Troop (see Annex); consolidated unit designated as 1st Signal Troop, an element of the 1st Cavalry Division.

25 March 1949; Redesignated as the 13th Signal Company.

15 October 1957; Reorganized and redesignated as Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 13th Signal Battalion, an element of the 1st Cavalry Division.

01 November 1957; Organic elements of the 13th Signal Battalion activated in Korea.
