01 January 1938; Redesignated as the 91st Engineer Battalion (Separate).

10 February 1941; Activated at Camp Shelby, Mississippi.

10 July 1942; Reorganized and redesignated as 91st Engineer Regiment (General Service).

06 August 1942; Redesignated as 91st Engineer General Service Regiment.

20 January 1946; Inactivated at Manila, Philippine Islands.

28 November 1951; Regiment (less Headquarters and Headquarters Detachments, 1st, 2nd Battalions and "E" and "F" Companies) reorganized and redesignated as 91st Engineer Combat Battalion.

14 January 1952; Activated at Fort Belvoir, Virginia.

20 May 1953; Reorganized and redesignated as 91st Engineer Engineer Battalion (Combat).

20 May 1971; Inactivated at Fort Belvoir, Virginia.

16 October 1992; Activated at Fort Hood, Texas and assigned to the 1st Cavalry Division.
